One of the most prominent consumer trends right now is vintage/retro. You might remember the resurgence of the nostalgia trend from the previous 2008-2009 recession, but this time it’s different since it’s not intended for those who lived back in the 1990s but rather, for their kids.
Cultural phenomenons like Netflix’s Stranger Things, Ready Player One, and origin stories taking us to the 1990s, found a change-seeking, tired Gen-Z for whom pre-social media naivete is as exciting as the ideas of free love and anti-war seemed to their Millennial parents.
And so, touring Target aisles, you might think you found yourself in a remake of Back To the Future…
